The Hand Finisher at Boeing Commercial Airplanes is responsible for hand finishing and edge breaking of metal airplane parts using hand and pneumatic tools. The role includes following standardized work procedures, performing quality inspections, and supporting continuous improvement and safety culture. This entry-level fabrication position requires mechanical ability and teamwork in a manufacturing environment focused on aerospace production.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking highly motivated, creative and skilled candidates for an Entry-Level Fabrication Specialist - Hand Finisher to join our production team environment, which will support our Boeing manufacturing facility in Helena, Montana, on 2nd Shift (Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm-2:00 am).

This position will work closely with manufacturing operations and assembly to produce hard metal airplane part details and assemblies for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The ideal candidate will have a background in hand finishing parts, use of hand tools, mechanical ability and machining while working in a collaborating and teaming environment with the ability to improve the daily work and quality improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Hand finish and edge break of aluminum, stainless & titanium production parts.
  • Utilize and follow standardized work and step details required for production parts and assemblies.
  • Assists real time problem solving to understand and determine the true root cause to eliminate all defects and improve the product, process or system.
  • Assists and verifies that all parts are inspected prior to closing an operation so we do not pass on any defects to our downstream customers
  • Support a culture that is committed to continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Experience using hand and/or air (pneumatic) tools
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 3 months experience in Aerospace, Mechanics, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $45,000 – $46,000

Sign-On Bonus: External candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500
