Job Overview

The Equal Opportunity Program Manager develops and coordinates educational programs for the Office of Equal Opportunity. This role will facilitate search committee education and other workshops to assist with the administration of the University's equal opportunity/non-discrimination plan. This role provides scheduling and logistics for search committee education, the EO Academy, workshops, and events; develops, administers and analyzes assessments and evaluations; compiles statistics and prepares reports; and interacts with and assists staff, faculty, students, university departments and external agencies. This position will report to the Office of Equal Opportunity leadership team.

The search team will begin reviewing applications as early as August 25th.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate search committee education and advise community partners on university and non-discrimination policies, equal employment opportunity procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with the administration of the University's equal opportunity/non-discrimination plans.
  • Coordinate EO Academy events, workshops and instructors. Create, obtain and distribute required instructional materials as well as communicate schedules and details.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies as directed by leadership to recruit employees into the EO Academy or other workshops.
  • Oversee scheduling of the EO Academy courses through the Canvas learning management system and videoconferencing platforms (i.e. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.).
  • Communicate timely with University of Cincinnati employees, students and instructors via phone, written correspondence, or in person. Act as a liaison to internal departments, external entities and community organizations.
  • Process EO Academy enrollment, manage the gradebook, and answer routine inquiries regarding courses, schedules, and locations.
  • Oversee the room reservation process and maintenance of physical space and materials, which may include coordinating technical support, unlocking and locking training rooms, and tracking technical equipment.
  • May utilize HR information system and/or database to enter data and produce reports on training statistics, inventory levels, and assessments of the programs or instructors.
  • Develop, administer, and analyze assessments and evaluations. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Provide operational support, frequently of a highly complex, compliance-based, and confidential nature, to the Office of Equal Opportunity staff.
  • Create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs.
  • Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
  • Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • May serve on university-wide committees or assist with special projects.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Demonstrated experience providing administrative or operational support of a highly complex, compliance-based and confidential nature.
  • Demonstrated experience creating accessible, strategic communications, reports, websites, and other marketing materials.
