Family Health Centers Of San Diego (FHCSD) is looking for a student intern to provide support to the Laura Rodriguez Research Institute (LRRI), which may include providing health education, patient engagement, clerical support, event support, or other assigned duties. Participates in, and supports, the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of services in accordance with contractual and departmental requirements and guidelines. Specific assignments vary depending on program, grant, and patient demographics, with a focus on providing community-based healthcare services to the medically underserved.

Students interns applying for LRRI internships will be approved by LRRI.

The student intern volunteer provides support to an assigned department as a volunteer, which may include providing health education, patient engagement, clerical support, event support, or other assigned duties.

Responsibilities:

• Performs duties as assigned based on department needs under direct supervision.
• Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.
• Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.
• Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, and departments.
• Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a degree or have completed a program from an accredited university within the last year.
• Senior undergraduates and graduate students preferred.
• Interest in FHCSD's mission and vision.
• Must meet organizational medical and background clearance requirements.
