Excel Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Job Description & Requirements

Position Details

• Unit Type: Medical-Surgical with Telemetry capability
• Float: Required across all campuses
• Schedule: Every other weekend & holidays as needed
• Experience:
  • Minimum: 2 years required
  • First-time travelers welcome
  • Preferred: Previous Charge RN experience

Certifications Required

• BLS (Required)
• ACLS, NIHSS (Preferred)

Skills & Experience

• Patient Ratios: 1:5–6
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Clinical Skills:
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation & management
  • Peripheral line care, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks
  • Rapid Response Team use
  • Non-invasive airway management
  • Isolation precautions
  • CPAP/BiPAP, trach collar (<40%)
  • Starting IVs, wound care, suctioning
  • PICC line, high-flow oxygen, feeding tube care
  • Total joint replacements, diabetes care, post-op patients
  • Blood product administration
  • Phlebotomy, chest tubes, CBI

Patient Types

• General Med-Surg diagnoses
• Observation patients
• Respiratory conditions
• End of life/hospice/palliative care
• Psychiatric observation
• Surgical/post-surgical
• Diabetes (including new or complicated cases)

Facility Details

• Daily Census: ~12
• Age Range: Adults, Geriatrics
• Support Services:
  • IV team, PT, RT, Social Services, RRT, Pharmacy, Phlebotomy
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scheduling Type: Fixed

Compliance & Onboarding

• Deadline: Full compliance due by 12:00 PM EST the Wednesday before start date
• Licensing:
  • Active license required at time of submission
  • No open background check cases accepted
• Education:
  • Must pass third-party verification
  • No diplomas from institutions on Florida’s diploma fraud audit list
• Radius Rule: No locals within 50 miles

Special Notes

• EPIC proficiency is required.
• All RNs must pass a facility EKG exam (2 attempts max). No study materials provided.
• Candidates should expect to float and must be flexible.
