The Clinical Lab Assistant I is responsible for collecting blood specimens and receiving, handling, and processing laboratory specimens for testing. This role includes sorting and accessioning specimens, assigning them to the appropriate pre-analytic and analytic workflows, and performing computerized tasks related to patient registration, test order entry, and specimen processing.
The position also involves basic post-analytic duties such as distributing reports, storing and retrieving specimens, maintaining documentation, and ensuring a clean, safe, and well-stocked work environment. The Clinical Lab Assistant I operates basic pre-analytic laboratory equipment and follows all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient privacy, safety, and high-quality care. This position is represented by OFNHP.
