**Job Title: Telecom Technician 3**
**Location:** On-site (plenty of parking available)
**Start Date:** ASAP
**End Date:** TBD on going long term
**Hours:** Minimum 50 hours/week, 5-6 days/week
**Job Overview:**
The Telecom Technician 3 will oversee the installation, planning, organization, and scheduling of communication cabling and equipment. This role includes managing a team of five or more technicians and apprentices, ensuring high-quality work, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with industry specifications.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Ensure safe use of hand and power tools and wear appropriate PPE.
- Actively participate in daily safety briefings and compliance with safety protocols.
- Install and troubleshoot various low voltage cabling systems (Fiber Optics, Cat 5, 6, 6A).
- Conduct surveys of existing telecom infrastructure and document findings.
- Create 4-week look-ahead plans for productivity and materials.
- Train and supervise team members, ensuring correct installation of cables.
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings and perform quality assurance checks on installations.
- Participate in job site clean-up and secure company tools daily.
- Travel up to 25% (domestic/international) may be required.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the commercial communications industry.
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean record.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug test.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Provide basic tools as specified prior to the first day of employment.
- Wear long pants and shirts covering shoulders (not provided).
**Physical Requirements:**
- Capable of lifting at least 100 lbs and maintaining balance at various heights.
- Ability to perform tasks such as walking, climbing, squatting, and reaching overhead.
- Good vision and hearing abilities for effective communication and safety awareness.
**Desired Skills:**
- Active Security Clearance and valid passport (for international travel).
- BICSI Technician certification and manufacturer certifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
