In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models using AutoCAD and other industry-specific software. Are you excited about this Structural Steel Detailer job?As a Full Time Structural Steel Detailer at Kinsley Steel, you will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise in 3D modeling using Tekla Structures. Your attention to detail will be essential as you generate detailed RFIs to ensure all necessary information is included in design drawings, and maintain a log to track the progress. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in generating 2D shop fabrication drawings and erection plans, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client specifications. Your proficiency in reading specifications, design drawings, and connection design packages will be valuable as you determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required for each project. Collaboration with other trade contractors through the BIM process will be essential in coordinating the steel package and resolving any clashes detected.
As a Full Time Structural Steel Detailer, it is important to have a solid understanding of steel fabrication and erection, with knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved. Your strong mathematical abilities and attention to detail will play a crucial role in this position as you perform detailed record-keeping, reporting, and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be essential as you communicate with team members and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
What matters mostTo be successful as a Structural Steel Detailer at Kinsley Steel, proficiency in certain software and tools is essential. Experience with Tekla Structures is preferred, as it is a key tool for 3D modeling and generating accurate structural drawings. Familiarity with SDS/2 will also be considered, as it plays an important role in the structural steel detailing process. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required, as these tools are commonly used for communication, document creation, and data management. Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, a software used for reviewing and marking up drawings, is also beneficial in this role.
While not required, familiarity with Tekla EPM/Powerfab is a plus, as it can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the detailing process. In addition to software proficiency, successful candidates should possess strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for collaborating with team members, trade contractors, and clients. The ability to work independently, stay organized, and maintain accurate record-keeping is also important for success in this role.
