CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting our client in their search for a Staff or Senior Accountant. This is a remote position in the EST time zone.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations for our construction material manufacturing company. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to accuracy, supporting both financial and operational goals by performing a variety of accounting and reporting duties. This position is responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end close and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Perform daily and monthly bank, account, and inventory reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices and payments.
• Support cash management activities and assist with forecasting and budgeting.
• Work closely with the operations team to track production costs, raw material usage, and inventory valuation.
• Assist with the preparation of sales/use tax returns and other compliance filings.
• Help maintain fixed asset records and support capital expenditure tracking.
• Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary schedules and documentation.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline accounting procedures.
• Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 1-6 years of experience in an accounting role; manufacturing industry experience a plus.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Quickbooks.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation range is between $80,000-$110,000
