️ Job Title: Front End Loader Operator (with Snow Removal Duties)

Location: Metro Detroit Area

Job Type: Full-Time 

Reports To: Site Supervisor / Snow Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Front End Loader Operator to join our team. This role involves operating heavy equipment to move and load materials year-round, with a critical focus on snow removal during winter months . The ideal candidate will have experience in both general loader operations and plowing snow in high-traffic or municipal areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate front end loader to move soil, gravel, debris, and other materials

• Perform snow plowing and removal using loader attachments during winter operations

• Clear roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas efficiently and safely

• Apply salt or de-icing agents when required

• Monitor weather conditions and respond to emergency snow calls, often during off-hours

• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections

• Maintain accurate logs of snow removal activities and equipment usage

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other crew members

• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE

✅ Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred for snow operations)

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating front end loaders

• Prior experience in snow removal or winter operations strongly preferred

• Familiarity with loader-mounted snowplow blades, push boxes, and salt spreaders

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during snow events

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate machinery for extended periods in cold and harsh weather

• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks when needed

• Tolerate exposure to snow, ice, and low visibility conditions

Preferred Skills

• Certification in heavy equipment operation

• Knowledge of local snow routes and municipal snow removal procedures

• Strong situational awareness and decision-making under pressure
