Satellite Operator (SatOps) – Entry Level

Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage daily operations of the satellites and the supporting TT&C ground network.
• Respond to and troubleshoot alarms related to satellite and network operations.
• Implement command sequences for normal and emergency satellite operations.
• Support daily payload operations of satellites.
• Assist in the analysis of spacecraft anomalies, compiling data to support anomaly reports.
• Oversee the satellite ground station network and assist with pass activities.
• Conduct routine checks on spacecraft performance, compile reports, and contribute to preliminary analysis.
• Document operations procedures, create shift logs, and assist with shift briefings.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions and meetings related to satellite operations.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field (e.g., Remote Sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science).
• Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Flexibility to work on a rotating schedule, including holidays, weekends, and night shifts.
• Eligibility to obtain security clearance.

• Desired: Prior experience in satellite operations.
• Proficiency in scripting or Python programming.
• Familiarity with Linux OS and commercial cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
