Job Description

The RNG Engineer must demonstrate a strong aptitude in mechanical work, understands relevant regulatory requirements, and is capable of reading and implementing GCCS plans, equipment operating and maintenance manuals, and schematics. The ideal candidate will need to be commercially minded, detailed oriented with strong analytical abilities, and can approach projects with creativity and entrepreneurial thinking. The individual will interface with multiple organizations within and outside of the division they support. The ability to build consensus and make quick, accurate and fact-based decisions are critical to success. Experience in a matrix environment is a strong plus, as is a high tolerance for uncertainty and flexibility to deal with unanticipated deliverables and tight deadlines.

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:

• Forecast, analyze current production trends, and proactively recommend productivity improvements based on analytical data and optimized measures
• Monitor site data of technicians performing wellfield tuning efforts to forecast and provide optimized solutions for production improvements
• Planning, directing, and coordinating certain landfill gas collection system design, construction, and commissioning activities by contractors
• Interact/supervise/manage vendors and/or sub-contractors needed to assist with operating, monitoring, and maintenance of the GCCS
• Be capable of reviewing other landfills operations as part of development activities, and those considered for acquisition, as to past GCCS operations and maintenance practices, and recommending immediate and future changes to such practices to optimize gas recovery, gas quality and/or regulatory compliance

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of pertinent work experience
• Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or similar field.
