What You Will Do The Preschool Teacher is a member of the BCNC Acorn Center for Early Education & Care team. The state licensed and nationally accredited child care center supports the growth and learning for children from 15 months to 5 years. You will work collaboratively with a team of professional teachers to strengthen children and families by providing high-quality education and care so parents can work or further their education. You will report directly to the Director of Acorn Early Education and Care. In this role, you will: Provide a warm, nurturing, safe, and child-focused environment where children are supported in developing appropriate age skills. Ensure compliance with all MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), state, local, and BCNC guidelines. Design and implement a curriculum that addresses young children’s needs and cultural interests and utilize assessment results to tailor learning experiences. Collaborate with program staff to communicate with families and professionals when children require special services and participate in CORE evaluations upon request. Maintain effective communication and build respectful relationships with staff, children, and families. Assist in organizing and maintaining program records, files, logs, and documentation. Maintain staff ethics, demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality. Engage professional development by attending workshops, conferences, monthly supervision, staff meetings, BCNC meetings, and training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. What We Look For Minimum Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, with a willingness to pursue a Bachelor’s degree within one year. Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred. MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Lead Teacher certification required. First Aid and CPR certification within six months of employment. Proficient in building strong relationships with individuals of all ages, including adults, children, and families.
