The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician 1 to work in Miami. The Pharmacist Technician 1 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

* Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.

* Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.

* Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.

* Refers providers' calls and medical questions to Pharmacist.

* Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties.

* Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

State of FL registration as a Pharmacy Technician

Experience:

No experience required. {New Grad/Entry}

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

* Skill in data entry with minimal errors.

* Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence

* Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

* Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

* Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
