Job Overview

In coordination with management, this role will be responsible for ensuring seamless functioning of all day to day Merchandising System and EDI related Order Processing functions by analyzing requirements, producing mapping documentation, testing systems, and establishing communication with trading partners, as well as coordinating information between the various systems and departments within the Cavender’s organization. This associate also assists other internal departments including Finance and Merchandising with EDI transactional information. This role has a strong focus on vendor experience, professionalism, good judgment and tact. The Merchandising and EDI Platform Manager will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert and Manager level role that will partner with enterprise and DTC planning, assortment, allocations and merchandising leadership to understand our business strategy and imperatives, and develop innovative solutions. This role must understand the broader business imperatives related to planning and sales strategies, be able to articulate them into a technical enablement roadmap, and effectively manage competing priorities to maximize the overall business benefit. This role reports to the Director, Finance and Merchandising Systems. The ideal candidate must have the business acumen to clearly articulate the application roadmap, and the technical and service provider management expertise to ensure ongoing operations and project success. The ability to work at high level solution design and detailed problem solving is a critical component of success for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive the Mission, Vision and Values
  • Subject Matter Expert level of knowledge and experience with EDI technical specifications and functional purpose
  • Experience managing daily support and troubleshooting routines, familiarity with common failure points and remediation approaches
  • Work with 3rd party EDI Providers as needed to troubleshoot transaction errors, on-board new vendors, and test transactions
  • Establishing documentation standards used to develop flow charts and written documentation of EDI design, specifications, and operating protocols
  • Creating guidelines and implementing the means to exchange data with trading partners
  • Developing and maintaining communication links with trading partners
  • Overseeing integration of information
  • Ensuring standards and policies are maintained
  • Managing EDI-related business support responsibilities
  • Providing ongoing internal/external customer support for EDI related transactions and problems
  • Practice cost-effective approach and lead EDI team to deliver company financial goals and objectives
  • Responsible for overall EDI operations
  • Monitor and troubleshoot all EDI inbound and outbound processes
  • Partner with Merchandising and Financials departments to improve the EDI integration process and data quality
  • Analyze all routine processes of EDI and administer all system performance and data mapping processes, and prepare reporting to management
  • Participate in all system tests and analyze all data and processes, and recommend improvements to same. Manage all communication with individuals and internal and external stakeholders to ensure company compliance with all EDI guidelines from all EDI customers, and implement any updates pertaining to EDI transactions
  • Remain current regarding EDI and internet field technological developments
  • Work with trading partners to identify data interchange needs and development of solutions
  • Gather user feedback on the accuracy, efficiency, and functionality of the system
  • Serve as SME for Merchandising System
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Vice President of IT and the Director of IT, as needed

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Technology or related experience
  • 2-5 years minimum related experience (retail preferred)
  • Have a strong working knowledge of EDI and inventory systems, processes, implementation, and support
  • Familiar with retail application components and concepts
  • Solid understanding of privacy and PCI regulations
  • Based in Tyler, TX at our home office; Tyler area residence
