Job Description

Our client, an energy technology company, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer IV to join their team in Greenville, SC. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the Global Turbine Fleet Team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive problem-solving mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
 
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer IV
Location: Greenville, SC
Pay Range: $50/hour
 
What’s the Job?

• Build 2D and 3D finite element models of turbine components and run thermal, structural, modal, or forced response analyses.
• Perform lifing calculations including LCF, HCF, creep, oxidation, and fracture mechanics; post-process modal results (frequency/Campbell diagrams) for design review presentations.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) work for turbine component failures.
• Review and validate 2D & 3D models, focusing on ANSYS and UG/NX platforms.
• Present findings and analyses in design reviews and collaborate with global engineering teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or relevant engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).
• 4+ years of engineering design experience in gas turbine engines.
• Strong experience with ANSYS (classic), UG/NX, GD&T interpretation, and engineering drawings.
• Experience with PLM/Teamcenter configuration management tools and root cause analyses (RCA).
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with a team-oriented, positive “can-do” attitude.
