Mechanical Build Technician

Cardinal Staffing is hiring Mechanical Build Technicians for a manufacturing facility in Fenton, MI. We're looking for candidates who will be comfortable working overtime and weekends for a company that has a lot of growth opportunities. $18.54/HR | Monday-Sunday, M-F 6am-4:30pm Sat & Sun 6am-2:30pm.

Mechanical Build Technician Job Description:

• Use machinist skills to build new industrial equipment.
• Fabricate new and repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Shows proficiency in reading/interpreting prints and can produce shop sketches for the build or repair task at hand.
• Determine any necessary changes in the dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting new or used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments during a build.
• Locate the source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Mechanical Build Technician Requirements:

• 5-7 years of related experience preferred, and a HS/GED required.
• Technical process understanding
• Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
• Thorough knowledge of machinist methodologies.
• Uses machinist/millwright skills to build industrial equipment.
• Ability to frequently walk, stand for extended periods (8-10 hours a day), balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, twist, turn, and lift while performing functions of the position.
• Comfortable with cleaning and quality control
• Able to reach overhead and climb ladders as needed.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
