Position: Lab Technician

Client: Healthcare Client

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Duration: 6 month CTH

Shift: 3pm-11:30pm, M-F

Overview:

The duties of this position includes but is not limited to accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness.
Position utilizes automation and computerization, and manual methods.
Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
May be involved in teaching and training, but not in a leadership position.
Position handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood borne pathogens.
Qualifications:

Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. Or an associate's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science.
Prefer American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified. As of June 1, 2015: if not certified, must be eligible for verification as a Technologist by an approved agency. Certification exam must be completed within 3 years of hire date.
One year experience in capillary and venipuncture phlebotomy and general laboratory testing.
