Job Description: Job Summary: The CityU library provides programs and services to support academic success and engagement at the institution. Librarians support students, faculty, and staff in creating engaging curricula, using library resources and services, and teaching critical thinking and information literacy. These services are offered to a diverse population, both in-person and online.
This position is a reference and instruction librarian within a team at the institution. Primary responsibilities include delivering, designing, promoting, and advocating for library services. Selecting print, electronic collections, and materials to support programs, courses, and research is also an essential part of this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide general and specialized reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
- Select print and electronic materials in a variety of curriculum areas.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop online instruction materials.
- Partner with faculty to integrate information literacy instruction into the curriculum.
- Provide information literacy instruction both face-to-face and online.
- Create, edit, and manage content in online environments such as Brightspace LMS, Ex Libris Leganto, Springshare LibGuides, etc.
- Market library resources and services to students, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in library and university committees and task forces.
- Continuously improve professional knowledge and skills.

- ALA-accredited master's degree in library or information science or the foreign equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
- Minimum of two years of related professional experience.
- Experience in providing reference services in an academic environment.
- Experience in the design and delivery of instruction, preferably in an online environment; knowledge of current trends in information literacy instruction.
- Experience with collection maintenance and development.
- Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within groups.
- Proficient with basic MS Office tools.

Salary information: $2429/hour
