This Operations Manager will be a steady state leader helping maintain the success of an established 100+ person aerospace manufacturing operations and production team. This individual will guide a stable, well-performing cohesive team, for a company has achieved steady year-over-year growth and operates in a strong, stable market serving massive aerospace clients.

This is a leadership role ideal for someone who leads through mentorship, consistency, and collaboration rather than a focus on KPIs or quotas. The position focuses on maintaining operational excellence, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting department managers across production, quality, purchasing, engineering, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor department managers across manufacturing, quality, engineering, purchasing, and maintenance - developing future leaders and promoting a culture of accountability and education.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for a 118-person precision manufacturing team delivering precision aerospace components.
• Serve as the company’s operational point person for customer interface, supporting quoting, planning, and ensuring commitments are met.
• Support long-term planning and continuous improvement efforts that maintain the company’s reputation for reliability and precision.
• Foster collaboration between engineering and production to align methods, tooling, and process control.
• Guide production teams on quality, throughput, and process discipline in line with AS9100 and Nadcap standards.
• Maintain a stable, people-focused culture where communication, predictability, and employee development are prioritized over hard metrics.

Ideal Background:

• Experienced operations or general manager within a precision manufacturing or machining environment; aerospace preferred but not required.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills working with major OEM clients, ideally Aerospace clients.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop cross-functional managers and production staff.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, or similar quality frameworks.
• Background in precision manufacturing processes strongly preferred.
• Comfortable operating in a flat, team-oriented structure where leadership is collaborative and ego-free.

What This Role Is Not:

• Not a transformational, quota-driven, or metrics-heavy leadership role.
• Not focused on financial management or strict budget control. Success here is about people, relationships, and consistency.
• Not a high-travel or long-hour culture. This is a balanced, family-oriented environment with a respectful schedule.
