POSITION OVERVIEW

The Food & Beverage Attendant at Flippers @ Captiva Landing serves as the welcoming face of this lively and fast-paced outlet, located within the Captiva Landing Water Park. This position is responsible for creating a friendly and engaging experience for all guests — from greeting and taking orders to ensuring accurate transactions and timely delivery of food and beverages to cabana guests.

Flippers offers a variety of casual favorites including sandwiches, burgers, salads, soft-serve ice cream, and other sweet treats, making it one of the most popular spots at the resort.

RATE OF PAY   full-time, hourly position at $18 per hour, plus the opportunity to make tips

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide exceptional guest service by acknowledging and welcoming all guests to Flippers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Accurately take guest orders, process transactions through the POS system, handle payments, and return change following established procedures.
  • Deliver food and beverages to cabana and water park guests promptly, ensuring all orders meet resort presentation and quality standards.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines assigned for each shift.
  • Complete daily shift checklists and tasks as assigned by leadership.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication between the Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, and fellow team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings with staff and management to review priorities and updates.
  • Set up, arrange, and stock the outlet with supplies, condiments, bottles, and glassware according to specifications.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary conditions in all work areas at all times.
  • Execute the steps of service and uphold company standards throughout every guest interaction.
  • Adhere to all assigned schedules, work areas, and daily responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership or the General Manager.

POSITION REQUIRMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, Inventory Management Systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to evaluate and make decisions quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must perform effectively under pressure and maintain composure in high-volume situations.
  • Proven ability to listen, understand, and resolve issues raised by guests or coworkers.
  • Must maintain professionalism, objectivity, and composure in all guest and team interactions.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License (motor vehicle background check required)
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (in compliance with Florida state regulations)
  • Food Handler’s Certification (in compliance with Florida state regulations)
  • Must be 18 years or older to serve or sell alcohol in the State of Florida

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, vendors, and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Required to attend daily, weekly, or monthly meetings and other functions as directed by management.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the General Manager.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying Florida weather conditions, including sun, heat and humidity.

HOURS REQUIRED

  • Full-time (40 hours per week); schedule may vary based on business needs.
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
