About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Executive Director to spearhead our strategic initiatives and enhance our role as a vital cultural and economic resource. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fundraising, donor relations, and major gifts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all organizational operations, finances, programming, and staff.
• Acting as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the foundation.
• Fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the organization.
• Ensuring effective communication and upholding the mission of the foundation.
• Engaging with the community and developing the board and governance structures.
• Managing personnel and facilities effectively.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience in nonprofit leadership, with expertise in strategic visioning, fundraising, and community outreach. A deep commitment to African American and Black arts and culture, particularly within Southern or diasporic contexts, is crucial.

We are looking for a charismatic leader who demonstrates personal accountability, exceptional project management skills, and a solid understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. A proven track record in nonprofit financial management and governance is essential, along with the ability to connect with diverse communities at various levels.
