About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Economic Development. The successful candidate will be a strategic and results-driven leader with a proven track record in industrial, manufacturing, and commercial growth. This role involves developing and executing county-wide economic development strategies, aligning policies to attract high-impact projects, and managing the full lifecycle of business recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on business retention and expansion, particularly in the areas of workforce development and support for existing industries. They should be adept at public-sector leadership, community engagement, and fostering regional partnerships to drive sustainable economic growth. Applicants for the Executive Director position should hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and have at least 5 years' of experience in economic development or a related field. The role requires a candidate with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal economic development policies. Experience in advanced manufacturing, life sciences, technology, and related sectors is essential. The ideal candidate will be practical, innovative, and regionally-minded, with the ability to position the county competitively for industrial investment. A background in public-sector leadership, including experience with incentive programs, zoning, and permitting processes, is also highly valued.
