Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Opportunity Gresham, OR

This contract role involves providing specialized instruction to children ages 3 to 5 in an inclusive early childhood special education classroom. The teacher will manage a caseload of approximately 17 young learners, supported by two paraprofessionals. The position follows a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:20 AM to 2:50 PM. Instructional content will align with the schools established curriculum and utilize the Learning Experiences Alternative Program (LEAP).

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the developmental needs of each student.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related services staff to ensure coordinated support.
• Facilitate inclusive classroom experiences for children with diverse learning needs.
• Maintain documentation and communication with families and support teams.
• Use the Learning Experiences Alternative Program (LEAP) as part of daily instruction.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Oregon State Teaching License with Special Education PK-12 endorsement is required.
• Demonstrated experience writing and implementing IEPs in early childhood settings.
• Comfort working with children ages 3-5 in inclusive classroom environments.
• Familiarity with Individual Family Support Plans (IFSP) is preferred.
• Strong collaboration skills working with paraprofessionals and related service providers.

Location and Schedule:

• Location: Gresham, OR
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:20 AM 2:50 PM
• Contract assignment for the current school year.
