Documentation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Documentation Specialist to support the creation, maintenance, and continual improvement of technical documents for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will be experienced in technical writing and documentation development for IT systems. This position is contingent upon contract award. Candidates located in Dayton, OH, Columbus OH, Cincinnati, OH are preferred. However, remote candidates may be considered based on qualifications and business needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create, update, and maintain system documentation, including technical manuals and user guides.
• Support RMF compliance by developing cybersecurity-related documentation.
• Converts complex technical information into clear, concise documentation that is easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work with developers and engineers to capture accurate technical details.
• Ensure compliance with documentation standards and accessibility requirements (e.g., Section 508).
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

• Five (5) years of experience in technical writing and documentation for IT systems.
• Five (5) years in IT documentation or technical writing in a government or corporate environment.
• Proficient with documentation tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
• Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance.
• Certifications: None required, but technical writing certifications are a plus.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Information Technology/related field or similar completed coursework.
