Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller or CFO to lead our financial operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions, while also serving as a key advisor to the executive team on financial planning and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, job costing, and general ledger.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Oversee financial audits, tax filings, and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
• Partner with project managers and operations to ensure accurate job costing and profitability analysis.
• Evaluate and implement financial systems and process improvements.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support growth, risk management, and operational efficiency.
• Manage banking relationships, insurance, bonding, and capital planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in construction or contracting.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, WIP schedules, and job costing.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
