FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function The purpose of the CoSpo Manager is to assist the CoSpo Coordinator in advising the 15+ clubs that are under Campus Recreation. This position reports to the Competitive Sports Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain current American Red Cross certifications in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid; follow emergency care procedures in the event of an injury or emergency.
• Be a "team player" with supervisors, officials, peers, and all other Campus Recreation employees.
• Understand and abide by all Campus Recreation employee policies and procedures.
• Educate participants on benefits of participation in a variety of Campus Recreation events.
• Attending mandatory meetings, orientations, and staff development workshops.
• Holding weekly office hours and biweekly meetings with club leaders to track progress of clubs.
• Providing excellent customer service for Sport Club leaders and members at all times.
• Leading Sport Club Leadership Meetings by presenting pertinent information to club leaders.
• Updating CoSpo websites, records, files, paperwork and databases to provide accurate and up to date information.
• Understanding the policies and procedures of Sport Clubs as outlined by the Sport Club Handbook.
• Assisting with individual Sport Clubs budgeting.
• Monitoring Sport Clubs progress by approving requests and holding clubs accountable for Sport Club Handbook infractions.
• Assembling the necessary nightly materials needed for CoSpo Supervisor's shifts ensuring all appropriate forms are available at practices, events, and games.
• Serving on the Sport Club Council (SCC). The SCC is responsible for updating policies within the Sport Club Handbook, determining Student Fee Allocation and Activity Waiver Allocations, hearing infractions punishment appeals, and other similar situations.
• Be knowledgeable of Campus Recreation programs and services so that you can be an advocate of Campus Rec.
• Assisting with other duties as assigned by the CoSpo Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator.
**This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications Applicants should have at least 1 semester experience within the Competitive Sports program or as a Campus Recreation Office Staff employee.
Preferred Qualifications Excellent customer service skills. Good communication skills and ability to work well with others. Basic knowledge of recreational/sporting activities, Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and other technologies. American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and standard First Aid Certifications.
