The Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Grossing performs technical duties related to processing and dissecting surgical specimens to prepare histopathological slides for diagnostic study. The role requires expertise in specimen gross description, equipment operation, and compliance with safety protocols in a clinical laboratory environment. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor’s degree, preferably with certification and prior grossing experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

**Pay Range: $25.19 - $39.09 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Job Responsibilities
Perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides
Specialize in the accurate gross description and dissection of surgical specimens
Diagram pertinent gross specimens as necessary
Prepare sections of human tissue for pathologist diagnostic study
Operate laboratory instruments to properly display specimens
Perform equipment maintenance as needed
Record equipment log data in an accurate and timely manner
Comply with applicable safety procedures and protocol
Effectively communicate with histology team members
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is highly preferred
Previous grossing experience is highly preferred
ASCP or AMT certification is preferred
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
