We are currently in search of a Bookkeeper for a Nonprofit Organization located in New York City (Claremont Village) . This is a Part-Time, Hybrid, Temporary position.

ORGANIZATION: Nonprofit

LOCATION: New York City (Claremont VIllage)

POSITION TITLE: Bookkeeper

SCHEDULE: Part Time (20 hrs./wk.), Hybrid (2 days in office, 2 days remote)

DURATION: Temporary (TBD)

HOURLY RATE: $28-32/hr.

The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the office financials, which will include grant administration and cost allocation.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Associate's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration, or equivalent business experience with a non-profit organization
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and the Microsoft Suite (especially Excel)
• Experience with QuickBooks Online Payroll and/or Bill.com a plus
• Experience working with grants and grant-based cost allocation is a plus

How You Will Spend Your Day:

• Track income and expenses
• Record and classify payments and bank transfers
• Organize and maintain receipts
• Create invoices for services and contributions
• Enter bills and vendor invoices
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Manage payroll
• Execute data entry to keep the general ledger current
• Allocate revenue and expenses to restricted fund accounts
• Prepare the data used to create income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
• Other additional administrative responsibilities as needed
