Job Description

Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Archaeologist to support environmental planning projects within Texas and the surrounding region. In this role, you will conduct archaeological field work for multiple projects and at all levels of investigation, from site identification to data recovery, and archaeological monitoring. You will work on projects that require shovel testing, pedestrian surveys, excavation, and site documentation. This role is currently a part-time as needed field position. This position will require a candidate to work collaboratively with the Arcadis cultural resources team. Arcadis offers a flexible working environment and follows a hybrid work structure. However, this position will be a field position, so the successful candidate can expect to work remotely at the project site location. Role accountabilities: As an Archaeologist, you will apply your technical knowledge to support archaeological services over a range of sectors, including linear utilities, oil and gas, mining, rail and transit, and renewable energies. You will be a key cultural resources team member and work as part of an interdisciplinary environmental team. You will be responsible for conducting archaeological fieldwork, including archaeological monitoring. This will require a working knowledge of GPS systems and the ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, as well as carry supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology 1-2 years of experience in cultural resources management Demonstrated practical field experience within Texas or surrounding region Working knowledge of GPS systems and the collection of field data Arcadis is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
